Spring Wardrobe Planning

Spring and Fall are without a doubt my two favourite shopping seasons.  While Winter and Summer primarily involve the addition or removal of layers, Spring and Fall mean the transition to totally new colour palates, fabrics and accessories.  Although it’s still chilly here in Toronto, the sun has been shining and I am more than ready to trade my mittens and tights for sunglasses and bare legs.  Among the Spring looks topping my pinterest list: casual tulle, white blazers, pops of neon yellow,  layered neutrals and pattern mixing with stripes and florals.

How To: Grown Up Neon

By now we all know that the neon we knew and loved in the 80s has made a fierce come back.  I didn’t think I was personally prepared to relive my childhood fashion faux-pas, but then I got a tan, picked up a neon yellow clutch (for the record, it’s the one featured below, which I picked up on sale at Aldo for $30), and loved the kick ass way it popped against a basic white tee or chambray shirt.  Unless you’re 13 or under, I don’t recommend embracing neon from head to toe.  Instead, I’d suggest picking up a few bright accessories or some breezy chiffon for a quick and cheap way to incorporate this trend before the summer ends.
